I received an early renewal offer of 8.9c per kwh, but when I called to accept it, I was informed that the correct rate is actually 9.3c. I mentioned that the offer was valid when I called initially, so what caused the change? They explained that they have the ability to change the rate on a daily basis. I even sent them an email, but they have been ignoring my messages.

I strongly advise against choosing this company! If this is how they treat their customers, then the opposite of customer retention is happening. I will be switching providers because I cannot tolerate false advertising, which is essentially a form of fraud. This is basic marketing knowledge - you should never deceive your loyal customers.

Initially, they appear to be a good choice. However, as time passes, they gradually increase their rates. For instance, what you paid $130 for 1000 kwh two months ago, now exceeds $200. Moreover, for 1081 kwh, the current cost is $265.

Upon checking my account, I discovered that I have been switched to paperless billing, a change I did not authorize. Moreover, my bills are consistently high despite living in a very small house (less than 1200 square feet) with only a few window units and being the sole occupant. Each month, I am charged over $300, which seems excessive.

"I reached out to Gexa while I was away from home to inquire about their services. I must say, their customer service was exceptional. The representative I spoke with was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to address all my concerns. They provided me with detailed information about their plans and helped me choose the one that best suited my needs. Additionally, they were prompt in responding to my emails and provided clear explanations. Overall, my experience with Gexa was outstanding, and I"
UPDATE: I just received a third invoice with a credit on it (I think??), indicating that they are finally addressing the issue with AEP. I cannot confirm its accuracy, but it is an improvement compared to before. However, the other half of my July payment still shows as "past due." If this negatively affects my credit score, I will be quite annoyed. Nevertheless, I appreciate the progress made, assuming there are no negative consequences.

ORIGINAL: While I was out of town, I reached out to Gexa regarding my unusually high energy usage, despite setting the AC at 85, unplugging the fridge, and not using any appliances. They initiated a billing dispute with AEP central, which is fine. They instructed me to pay the amount that I am not disputing, so I estimated and paid half of it (which may have still been too much).
A few days later, my neighbor informed me that AEP had visited. It turns out that AEP had mixed up my line with his, resulting in me paying for his usage and vice versa.
Okay, that's understandable.
However, a week and a half later, Gexa is still showing me extremely high usage. I asked for confirmation that they would not report me to the credit bureau for not paying the remaining balance while the dispute was ongoing, as per PUC regulations. Unfortunately, they refused to provide me with that confirmation. Instead, they informed me that the payment was due on 08/01 instead of 07/15 and quoted me the remaining amount.
The next day, I received a bill for the entire amount again, despite already paying half of it.
Furthermore, they still have not resolved the issue with AEP, and I am owed a significant credit.
I am extremely angry about this situation.

"This is hands down the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced."
GEXA has the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered from any company! The individuals at their Guatemalan Call Center are truly the most unpleasant people you could ever come across.

They consistently lie, play games, and stall, and they adamantly refuse to connect you with supervisors. It takes a lot of effort to finally speak with a supervisor, but unfortunately, they are completely unethical, unprofessional, and lack any integrity. It doesn't matter who you speak with, as they simply waste your time without taking any action!

I had a conversation with Supervisor Jennifer Sibrian, who not only failed to adjust my payment correctly after I had resolved the entire past due amount, but also demanded that I pay the entire past due amount again before restoring my services. This is nothing short of extortion! They are absolutely insane!

The call center agents and supervisors are deceitful, irresponsible, dishonorable, and employ evasive tactics. The only way to accomplish anything with this company is to escalate the matter to the C-level executives at their corporate office in Houston. I strongly advise staying away from this company at all costs!

As I write this, I am currently on the phone with Joselyn, who claims to be a call center supervisor at the Guatemalan call center. She keeps placing me on hold, and I have been waiting for over 25 minutes without her returning to the phone. This is just one of the many evasive tactics they employ. These individuals are nothing more than paid con artists! I cannot stress enough how important it is to avoid this company like the plague it truly is!

"I have been charged $174 for the past 3 weeks for..."
I have been charged $174 for 1156kw over the course of 3 weeks, which I find to be absolutely outrageous. Gexa is engaging in fraudulent practices. I was supposed to be charged at a rate of 11.9, but instead, I am being charged at a rate of 17.5. Why is this happening? Overall, you guys are a terrible company. I need to cancel this service.

I have been a customer of the terrible Company for two years and they completely failed to inform me properly about my contract ending because they neglected to update my mailing address when I moved to a new address! As a result, I ended up with a bill of over $500 when my usual bill is less than $100. I simply asked for some help with one bill after already making a payment to avoid disconnection, but these heartless individuals couldn't care less! As someone who has never even asked for assistance before, this is not only offensive but also extremely upsetting considering I have already renewed the contract! It might actually be worth paying the $150 to terminate the contract early rather than staying with a company that doesn't give a damn about its customers! I will definitely never recommend this company and I will discourage anyone who is considering it!

After being a customer of Gexa for several years, I have found their prices to be extremely high. I decided to call and express my concerns about the unusually large bill I received, which amounted to over 600 dollars. Their explanation was that I had consumed more than 2000 kilowatt-hours, resulting in a higher rate and disqualifying me from a 100 dollar credit. These bills are simply unaffordable for me, especially considering the recent investments I made in my home, such as a new 16 SEER AC unit in April, custom solar screens for every window and door, as well as a new roof and insulation. Surprisingly, my energy usage has increased significantly, surpassing any previous consumption in the past 10 years. As a result, I have decided to switch to a different company that offers much lower rates than Gexa. It is disappointing that when I contacted Gexa, they did not even offer me a new or improved plan. This is particularly disheartening because the first two years of my experience with them were excellent.

"I would advise you to be cautious when dealing with Gexa."
I've been using Gexa for my son's electricity plan for almost 2 years now. He lives 5 hours away from me, which unfortunately means I can't have a Discount Energy Plan here in Houston. It's worth mentioning that my credit is excellent. However, Gexa will soon be losing my son's account. Can you believe how foolish that is?
